Welcome to Henhugger!
A helping hand for you and your ex-batts
Welcome to henhugger.co.uk. Here I hope to be able to offer advice, help and support to you and your chickens, in particular your ex-batts.
We include all hens - because let’s face it they are all gorgeous – but we do concentrate more on ex-batts as these special girls deserve special care.
Caring for ex-batts is a wonderful journey, they bring such joy and happiness to your life, every day spent with them is a privilege. But when they become ill, it can be a very lonely and frightening place to be if you cannot find the advice and help you need. Worried owners often contact me with questions about their sick hens so I decided to group together all the information I have learnt over the years in order to provide a first port of call for concerned owners.
So if you have a question or a query, please look at our Hen Help pages. You will find a wealth of information including the signs of a sick hen, a checklist to help identify what is wrong with her, an A-Z of ailments as well as common FAQs. If you cannot find the answer to your question, please contact me using the Contact Us page and I will do my best to help you.

Ex-batts will lift your spirits on the darkest day and they will return your love tenfold.
They are life enhancing and they provide sunshine for even the weariest soul.
